For years, Kenan Yıldız has been one of the world’s most sought-after young talents, and now Real Madrid have emerged as the latest club linked with the Turkish international. According to Italian outlet *Gazzetta dello Sport*, Madrid are eyeing a summer move for the Juventus star as they look to bounce back from a nightmare season dominated by Barcelona. The report claims Yıldız is Florentino Pérez’s dream signing, and a move would reunite him with national teammate Arda Güler—a prospect that would delight fans in Turkey. However, the 21-year-old recently signed a long-term contract extension at Juventus, making a transfer to the Bernabéu this summer extremely unrealistic.
**Why Kenan Yıldız to Real Madrid Doesn’t Make Sense**
First and foremost, Yıldız only committed his future to Juventus in February by signing a new deal until 2029. The Bianconeri rolled out the red carpet to convince the starlet to stay in Turin, with club legend Alessandro Del Piero playing a prominent role in the announcement. Juventus made him one of the highest-paid players at the club, and he is viewed as the cornerstone of their revival. Yıldız spoke affectionately about his love for the club, while Juve reaffirmed their ambition to become one of Europe’s best sides. With no financial pressure to sell, the Turkish international is the figurehead for their aspirations.
**Do Real Madrid Need Kenan Yıldız?**
A single defeat is often enough to spark a perceived crisis at Madrid, but the club is currently drowning in problems. They have no manager for next season, significant dressing room unrest fueled by Kylian Mbappé, reports of players clashing, and Vinícius Júnior’s contract situation needs resolving. There’s also the small matter of Barcelona winning the title in El Clásico this weekend. Madrid boast the most valuable squad in the world, but it remains unbalanced and requires surgery this summer. However, a new left-winger is not the priority—unless Vinícius Jr. leaves.
The Brazilian’s future is a hot topic as he enters the last year of his contract. If Viní Jr. departs, that could open a spot on the left wing, but that is also Mbappé’s preferred position—already a source of tension. Yıldız can play behind a striker, but Madrid already have Güler, Jude Bellingham, and Nico Paz for that role. The Argentine international will rejoin Madrid this summer as they activate his buy-back clause. Paz has been outstanding at Como under Cesc Fàbregas, producing more consistent performances in Serie A this season than Yıldız—his attacking output is also superior. Whoever becomes Madrid’s new manager will need to integrate Paz into their plans, and with other positions badly needing reinforcements, splashing over €80 million on Yıldız makes little sense—unless Viní Jr. leaves.
**The View from Italy**
To gain perspective from Italy, we spoke to Jatin Dietl, Transfermarkt’s Serie A expert. “From a financial perspective, Juventus are not in a position where they need to sell in order to survive, even without Champions League revenue,” said Dietl. “However, generating funds would be necessary to finance incoming transfers. That said, selling Yıldız to reinvest in other players would likely trigger a strong backlash from the Juventus fanbase.”
