JJ Redick, head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, could only tip his cap to the Oklahoma City Thunder after a 131-108 loss that pushed his team to the brink of elimination in the NBA playoffs. Despite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shooting just 7-of-20 from the field, the Thunder dominated throughout.
“The MVP went 7-of-20 and they still kicked our asses. They are an incredible team,” Redick said during a press conference following the game at Crypto.com Arena. The reigning NBA champions have taken a commanding 3-0 series lead and can seal a trip to the Western Conference Finals on Monday with a win in Los Angeles.
“We cut down on turnovers, but they still scored 30 points off of that. They shot 11-of-17 from three,” Redick noted while reviewing the game. The Lakers sorely missed star Luka Doncic, who remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
