Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Renato Marin spoke about his strengths following the 33rd round Ligue 1 match against Brest. His comments were reported by Canal Supporters.
“My strengths? I’m a bit aggressive, as my saves show. I like to come forward to press the attacker and deny him space. No, I’m not afraid. If you’re not crazy, you’re not a goalkeeper,” Marin stated.
The match took place at the Parc des Princes in Paris and ended 1-0. The only goal came in the 82nd minute, scored by forward Désiré Doué from a Lucas Hernandez assist.
PSG now have 73 points and sit top of the Ligue 1 table with two games remaining, having secured the championship title this round. Brest, with 38 points, are in 12th place.
Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was on the bench for PSG, with Marin guarding the goal. Safonov was included in the matchday squad but did not play.
Earlier reports indicated that Safonov experienced calf muscle pain after the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich. This pain kept him out of the league match against Lorient and limited him to just one training session before the return leg against Bayern.
