FC Krasnodar lost their chance to reclaim the top spot in the Russian Premier League (RPL) after a 2-1 defeat away to Dynamo Moscow in the 29th round.
Dynamo took the lead through Konstantin Tyukavin in the 48th minute, and Ivan Sergeev sealed the win deep into stoppage time (90+3). Krasnodar’s Diego Costa had opened the scoring in the 32nd minute.
Despite the loss, Krasnodar captain Eduard Spertsyan tied the RPL record for most assists in a single season, reaching 16. He joins Dmitry Loskov (2003), Hulk (2015/16), and Maxim Glushenkov (2023/24) at the top of that list.
Dynamo’s goal was their first against Krasnodar in official matches since September 2023. The two sides met for the second time in less than a week—on May 7, Krasnodar had won on penalties to advance to the Russian Cup Super Final.
With 63 points, Krasnodar slipped to second in the standings, behind Zenit St. Petersburg (65 points), who defeated Sochi 2-1 on Sunday. Dynamo remains in eighth place with 42 points.
In the final round on May 17, Krasnodar will host Orenburg, Dynamo will visit Baltika Kaliningrad, and Zenit will travel to face Rostov.
