The NFL will unveil its full regular-season schedule on Thursday, following a pattern established in recent years where the schedule has been announced during the second week of May. The league confirmed this timeline on Friday.
International games have already been set: the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams will face off in Melbourne, Australia, in Week 1. The game is scheduled for Sept. 10 at 8:35 p.m. ET/5:35 p.m. PT in the U.S., which translates to 10:35 a.m. the following day in Australia (Melbourne is 14 hours ahead of New York and 17 hours ahead of Los Angeles and San Francisco). The Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys will meet in Rio de Janeiro in Week 3 on Sept. 27.
The remaining seven international matchups will be announced Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET on “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network. Key dates for other marquee games are expected to trickle out throughout the week, with networks typically revealing one of their showcase games during upfront presentations to advertisers.
The Seattle Seahawks will begin defense of their Super Bowl title in the kickoff game on Sept. 9, though their opponent has not yet been announced. The NFL could opt for an immediate Super Bowl LX rematch, as the New England Patriots are scheduled to visit the Seahawks. Last season, the Super Bowl LIX rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs took place in Week 2. Other potential opponents include the Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, or Los Angeles Chargers.
